Completed matured! Totally different from 2010. Liquor like and matured fruity aroma, which continues to the taste. With acidity. Enough concentration. Tanning woke up one hour. 2000 @1980, Kping -, 210927-211006 — 3 years ago
2010. 9.0-9.1. Good for older Bordeaux fix, but lacks fruit to be great. Glycerin, minerals, some pencil lead come through at expense of muted blue and black fruits and moderate, integrated tannins. Little/no acid or tartness to round it all out. Certainly interesting but unlikely to gain what it needs over time. $74 at Liquor Outlet. — 4 years ago
Oak, cider, rich and rounded. quite honey and fruity. then feel acidity and minerals. Citrus, pear, grapefruits. 2nd glass, comfortable herb. Elegant. Then, liquor. like. 2015 @6600, Umem JH, 231007-231009 — a year ago
The 2001 Le Clos du Caillou Reserve is probably the most thrilling effort made by the late Jean-Denis Vacheron. Deep garnet in color, the wine displays intense aromas of dried provence herbs, iodine, dried strawberries, red cherries and plums, blackberry liquor, leather, forrest floor and a dash of white pepper. Full-bodied, the palate is almost overwhelmed by insane levels of fruit concentration and elevated alcohol, but there is just enough acidity to keep everything in balance. The long lasting, persistent finish confirms a wine of outstanding quality. Drink now until 2030. — 2 years ago
