Green Cap. Gorgeous nose of tiny green tomatoes, but in the very best way, slate, ripe orange melon, some spice and wild mint, slate and pulverized rock dust. So nuanced and clear. Palate is rich and ripe and has just enough sweetness to add an extra dimension of texture. Juicy, stimulating, salty and incisive and has astonishing purity and depth. Green fruits and some melon in the palate and great length, balance and poise. Great acids and such wonderful tension between the acid, sugar, minerals and fruit. Wonderful length on the finish. Really lingers. Crazy value here. This became so much more complete on day 2. So tasty, textured and fresh. Just an astonishing wine. 9.5 to 9.6. — 9 days ago

Ernst Loosen Pfalz Pinot Noir Rosé 2023

I’m baaaack! I’m sure no one missed me but I’ve been off the app for a while. Lots of life happening. So. Decided to jump back on due to a new to me Rose’ that I discovered. Germans can make wine! This is a wonderful deck wine with all types of food or by itself to celebrate the end of a long day. Everyone has described this wine spot on. For me though I get a slight hint of cinnamon on the end and the acidity is primo with smoked meats or a nice charcuterie! Love finding new gems! Enjoy. PS. I love this super-chilled but it is good at room temp as well. Thanks for putting up with the amateur!!! — 15 days ago

Graacher Domprobst Spätlese Riesling 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Best on Day 2. The 2021 Graacher Domprobst Spätlese (White Capsule) pours a day bright, light straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of tropical fruit: star fruit, passion fruit, lemons, petrol, rocky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long with tongue smacking acid and minerals. A cracking pairing with lamb massaman, larb and papaya salad. Drink now with some patience but better after 2026 and through 2041. Beautiful stuff. — 2 months ago

9.7

White Cap. Glorious nose of refined slate, lanolin, fresh herbs, some hints of apricot and green apple. So subtle, almost like an elegant Chablis crossed with Mosel. I am sure it will open more with air but the foundation is there for dynamite aromatics. Some sweet ginger now. Lime blossom. The palate is just awesome. Rich. chewy and dense but light as a feather and so elegant. Long and focused with sweet lime fruit and unreal purity. This is so close to a 9.7. Overnight the aromas are so stunning and the palate even more elegant but it stayed at 9.6. Actually got to a 9.7 as the finish just became transcendent and forever. — 2 months ago

Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Kabinett Fuder 6 Riesling 2021

This is a crazy wine.

On open it tastes watered down.

An hour in its very interesting.

Nose: ultra fine mineral dust. A memory of lemon flower. Really gorgeous. A GG quality nose.

Palate: filigreed. Elegant. Mineral. The memory of a classic mosel wine.

Needs an hour decant but I’m glad I had this. Classic in its own way.
