Savoury mulchy plum with touches of cinnamon and clove - evidence of whole bunch in the ferment. The palate is light to medium weight with red and black fruits with savoury stemminess. Certain Burgundian traits - quality between a Village and a Premier Cru. — 5 years ago
Mid yellow, strong and powerful on the powerful with impressive Le goth on the honey, guava and lime palate. This is proper Riesling that is thankfully drinking well now but I’d expect to develop beautifully for many years to come. First Boxler wine for me and I’ll be buying more on this evidence. Good comparison to Germany’s GGs. — 5 years ago
Maybe our favorite overall, deep and smooth. — 7 years ago
Surprisingly lovely for an 87! Perfect bottle from a private collection (and given to me for $30). Plummy fruit still in evidence with evolved notes of pipe tobacco a bit of moss/ash and red bell pepper. Medium in body with moderate finish, classic claret and really nice overall. Would hate to have tasted this in a lineup with other wines. On its own, it was lovable. — 7 years ago
Pale lemon colour in the glass. Evidence of legs.
Clean on the nose with notes of medium(+) intensity. Primary aromas:
1. green fruit: gooseberry;
2. citrus fruit: grapefruit, lemon;
3. tropical fruit: mango, passion fruit;
Secondary aromas of yeast, no tertiary aromas.
At a developing stage.
On the palate it is dry with pronounced flavour intensity. High acidity, medium alcohol, medium(+) body, long finish.
Well balanced, very complex. Outstanding wine. Drink it now, not suitable for further ageing. — 8 years ago

Made notes and then misplaced them. See previous Delectable notes. I recall this being citrus driven, mainly lime and a hint of mandarin. No evidence of TDN (petrol/kerosene). The standout was the fruit purity. Could cellar for a few more years if so desired. — 2 years ago
Hard to beat for the price,
K&L notes,
The pristine condition of this stunningly copper-colored brandy is inspiring - it's gorgeous. In the nose there are delicate fragrances of spice, sesame seed, light oak, and baked pears; seven more minutes in the glass bring out pineapple, light toffee, milk, and brown sugar. The palate entry is elegant, composed, and moderately sweet in more of an oaky than a fruity way; by the midpalate stage, there's flavor evidence of ripe pear, white grapes, cake frosting, Oloroso sherry, orange peel, and dark honey. End up sugary sweet, satiny textured, and long in the throat. 4 Stars - Highly Recommended - Spirit Journal - F. Paul Pacult 40% ABV

The epitome of fresh- lemon and lime, lime peel, green apple. It dances bright and on the palate in an angular fashion with the same intense flavors that trail. Slightly bitter finish. Overall good quality. Ecocert organic certified. — 5 years ago
Oak Barriques in evidence with vanillin notes also showing plums and tobacco with a dark chocolate note. Quiet dense on the palate with dried cherry, red licorice, and an overall sweetness. A little different to my note of September 2018 where I talk about sweet and sour although that is still there to a degree. A bit weird this one - too famous for what it delivers. In the 2013 Wine Spectator Top 100 this was Wine #1 I will leave last bottle to at least 2024 on its 20th Birthday. — 5 years ago

Armenian wine has gained more global popularity since a team of archaeologists discovered the earliest evidence of complete wine production inside an Armenian cave. You probably still won’t find them in most restaurants but you can now get high quality contemporary Armenian wine in specialty shops or online. Karasi by Zorah is pretty unique because it was aged in a Karas instead of a traditional barrel. Nose is similar to Pinot Noir from hotter climate with cherry and peppery notes. Medium bodied with delicate tannins and acidity. Very elegant yet interesting wine. — 8 years ago
See previous notes - sadly my last bottle of the 2013. A wonderful Pinot Noir. Along with the red fruits and lovely perfume a distinctly earthy note. The medium bodied palate is polished, fine and long. Owned and made by Shaw + Smith who are based in the Adelaide Hills and transport the grapes from this exceptional terroir in the Coal River Tasmania in refrigerated containers to be vinified in the Adelaide Hills. Quite a daunting exercise but on the evidence of this wine - an absolute triumph. — 4 years ago

I see some 2020 available that I can have shipped from the next state over, $70.00?Evidence of a slightly warmer southern Monticello Ava aspect/terroir…from a generally cool/dry vintage. After seven years it has concentrated a bit in bottle/callar and finding velvety texture with plush tannins. Plenty of compote/black cherry energy drives a framed herbally-sweet attack. Above average effort compared to their peers… One of the more overlooked/under appreciated vineyard sites and winemakers in the region. — 5 years ago
Lemon in colour. Some flint in evidence and smoky barrel ferment characters - sulphides. Sweeter on the palate than you would expect from the nose. Rich lemon characters. Overall lean in style. Tasted 41 weeks later on 19th January 2022 with consistent notes. Still in the lean citric acid style. Had another bottle 69 weeks later on 5th August 2022. It had filled out somewhat and not as lean. Excellent winemaking on show - perhaps pick a bit later for more ripeness? Mac seems to be aiming for a more elegant style. — 5 years ago
A peppery note on the nose showing evidence of whole bunch in the ferment. Rich red fruits of cherry and raspberry on the palate showing more new world in the warm 2015 vintage with ripe tannins. Some new sources apparently in this year’s blend including declassified Beaune and Monthelie villages alongside the traditional Santenay villages and Santenay 1er cru Commes. Excellent quality for a Village wine and great QPR. — 6 years ago
Love this wine - drinking at its peak. Sadly my last bottle of the 2005. More savoury than fruit or floral aromas although some fading blue berry in evidence as well as smoky embers also mushroom. Earthy iron flavours with very fine sandy tannins. A fantastic expression of Sangiovese - medium plus bodied. — 7 years ago
Dark red with browning edges and a wonderful well developed nose without evidence of Madeira, as is the moderate to full body with wonderful complexity and acidity and softened tannins and a Lovely complex aftertaste. Unfortunately, last bottle. 95-98 points — 8 years ago
2015 - tomato leaf on the nose, savory tomato, anise and deep, vibrant fresh raspberry. quite impressive and more evidence that some parts of Europe are benefiting from climate change, at least in the short term. Delicious. — 8 years ago

2018 vintage. This was still made under the CA ( Crédit Agricole) ownership. In 2019 the estate, together with La Tour de Mons, was sold to Nathalie Perrodo, who is doing a great job at Labégorce and Marquis d'Alesme. There seems to be historical evidence that the wines of (what was later called) Marsac Séguineau were considered fifth growth quality pre 1855, but it wasn't classified because of the very small production and the fragmentation of the vineyards. The Château was only constructed in 1886. Bordeaux is a fascinating region, not only for wine aficionados, but also for history lovers. In any case, this is already a delicious wine, exhibiting the famous Margaux elegance, without lacking power. Very good value too. I hope to find some recent vintages soon, as I expect the wines to progress under the new ownership. Abv. 14%. — 4 months ago
