The super limited production top wine of Filaine Champagne and winemaker Fabrice Gass. Only recently even making its way at all to the US. It’s incredibly fresh, pure and texturally precise with riveting energy and coiled tension. It’s floral, smoky and red fruited with a citrus inflicted acidity and mineral core. Challenging but absolutely worthwile chenin. Reductive at first it opens up rather quickly. Ripe fruits ... pear, apple a little citrus. A vibrating and soft acidity on the palate paired with herbal and interessting bitterness. Very harmonic. Easy drinking for people, who had enough easy drinking. — 3 years ago
