Hallberg Vineyard - Dijon Clones Pinot Noir 2012

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2012 “Hallberg Vineyard - Dijon Clones” pours a deep, slightly cloudy, garnet color with a translucent core, moving out to a watery rim. Medium+ viscosity with very light staining of the tears and signs of light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with ripe and dried black and red fruits, damp earth, dried flowers and sweet baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. The fruit is the center of attention here and it’s big, a bit out of shape and at this point, nearly popping buttons. Drink now while the structure is keeping it together. — 4 months ago

Russian River Selection Chardonnay 2022

Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits and nutty toasty notes. On the palate flavors of peach, citrus and pear with vanilla and flinty notes, creamy texture. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, nuts, toasty oak and savory citrus character. Nice! — 3 months ago

Don't tell Gary Shiraz 2020

Vintage 2020 | Licorice in smell, cherries, blackberries, I thought it to be pinot noir because it has a certain frivoliy. Wine with a story. Good effort. — a year ago

Bacigalupi Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2012 “Bacigalupi Vineyard” pours a deep, slightly cloudy, garnet color with a translucent core, moving out to a watery rim. Medium+ viscosity with very light staining of the tears and some signs of light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with ripe and dried black and red fruits along with black pepper, green herbs, damp forest floor, decomposing woody elements, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This was tasted alongside the 2012 Hallberg-Dijon and, while a bit more interesting (gotta be some whole cluster happening), it’s also showing its age and the structure is showing signs of spalling. Lancel Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

Amazing, excellent Pinot Noir. No sign of obvious aging, lovely balance and plenty of fruit and character.

This was a bottle of the 2011 consumed in December 2023. Wonderful.
