Brunello di Montalcino 2019

Grosso! Might be too big if I wasn’t tasting twenty-five other wines. Still, it was quite nice and I would revisit w something tomato. — 5 days ago

Fattoria La Gerla

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

2019 vintage. PNP'd. Light-medium body. Consistent palate push throughout. Above average spice detail on the finish tho not nearly as complex or aggressive as the excellent 2016 effort. Total newb that could use a mandatory 5-7 to reconcile...issues. 10.22.24. — 16 days ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2007

Very much alive and in it’s prime - cherry leather, pipe tobacco, dried herbs. A little fig and fennel. Silky smooth tannins; better the next day! — 7 days ago

Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Medium ruby color. Aromas of mushrooms, forest floor, black cherries and wildflowers. Leaning toward dried blackberry fruit on the palate with additional notes of black cherry, balsamic vinegar, black pepper and dried herbs. Wonderful salty/earthy note on the long and lingering finish. So complex and lively. Medium bodied and well layered. Chalky tannins. Big 15% alcohol content but who cares? Outstanding vintage from an outstanding producer. Thanks for sharing, Keith S! — 5 days ago

Castiglion del Bosco

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

This wine has a dark garnet color in the glass, with a bit of brick red around the edge. Dark fruit dominates the nose, with aromas of cherry, black cherry and plum. Notes of tar, anise and sage adorning the fruit. The palate offers a savory mix of minerals, spices and cedar. The acidity is brisk and the tannins are firm. A medium-length finish highlights the savory aspect of the wine. It is a very smooth sip considering the 15% alcohol. — a month ago

Argiano

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

2019 vintage. PNP'd. Medium-heavy body. Lots of extraction and fruit along with corresponding tannic presence. Youthful but still in balance as we speak. A bit aggro as far as Brunello styles go but backing up the hype. Need to revisit in a half-decade after this has a kid and has to settle down and get a job that pays the bills. 10.22.24. — 16 days ago

Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2017

2017 vintage. Not much on the nose currently. PNP'd. Medium body. Darker fruit (plum, cherry, blackberry) with the corresponding musculature. Some tannins but mostly dispersed to the peripheries at the moment. Needs a few years/hours open but showing nicely for a less than "A" vintage. 10.22.24. — 16 days ago

PS Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Elegant and lithe Brunello that still packs a flavour punch. Dark berries and leather...very diverse and pairable. There wont be many who dont like this wine🥳
Paired with black cod in miso butter, fondant potatoes and oven roasted tomatoes.
