2023 Le Mont Sec is so full of golden Chenin character despite its pearly glint.
Close your eyes and its thick pierced red apple skin, browning cores and buckwheat honey with a strong floral character.
My favorite dynamic of sweet suggestions, dry deliverable. — 2 days ago
2009 vintage ( half bottle). Looks more evolved than the 2010 tasted alongside. But it is also much more complex. Intense perfume showing an abundance of noble rot, with roasted nuts, pineapple, honey, and a hint of thyme. Concentrated and layered, perfectly balanced and very long. Seems to be a notch above the 2010 today — 2 months ago
Sweet, vanilla and honey, great desert wine. — 12 days ago
Only wine you can define as liquid gold in a bottle, just perfect. Apricots, fruit blossoms, honey — 12 hours ago
Continuing quest to taste as many 22’s as possible.
Beautiful honeysuckle notes, Meyer lemon and spring flowers on the nose.
The palate show a good presence of Meyer lemon right at the top. Butterscotch notes, honeysuckle-honey comb, apricots, yellow peach, ripe, syrupy pineapple, cream, slivered almonds, saline, flinty notes, limestone marl, toast, some soft white spices, lots of moist to mushy chalk, yellow & spring flowers, excellent, round acidity and a well made, elegant, round, lush, finish that lasts 90 seconds landing on spice & minerals.
This will merit another point of two with appropriate age but still hard to justify $240 a bottle. The strong lemon presence needs time to calm. — 24 days ago
Honey and ripe pear. Lifted aromas. Great density on the palate and lingering acidity. — 7 days ago
Accompanied a cheese course this evening, delivering just the right level of sweetness. Holding its own, with some quite prominent apple and touch of honey. — 8 days ago
Honey, apricot & a little fresh mint. — 4 months ago
