Claré J.C. Langhe Nebbiolo 2023

9.0

Nose shows; roses, baseball card bubble gum, maraschino cherries, strawberries, raspberries, light river stone & top soil.

On the palate, very light, dry, micro tannin presence, crushed limestone powder, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, black tea, some bubble gum, some barrel shavings, dry tobacco hues, understated light spice, red & pink roses, rainfall acidity with a juicy, pleasant finish that lingers for a full minute.

Pleasant and easy to drink.

Coeur d'Argile Morey St. Denis Pinot Noir

For t minutes: classic MSD: mushrooms, pink pepper, spice, almost too much. Then it softened nicely into a soft attack and a big round finish, lots of flavour ending in prunes — 10 months ago

Les Faconnières Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Beautiful wine but quite young. Black cherry, roses, forest floor, cinnamon, clove and still a fair amount of new oak. Drinkable now but I would give it 5 more years. — 9 months ago

Bourgogne Graviers Pinot Noir 2020

Blind tasting no4. Should have let this decant for awhile first because it was super reduced - sulfur and eggs. Honestly would NEVER have guessed burgundy or Pinot noir. Just so saturated and dense. Probably missed some of the common flavors because it was still fresh.

Slightly cloudy opaque purple with little rim variation. Heavily extracted. Bone dry, medium tannins, medium acids. Red berries and chalk with a medium to full body. As it opened we got compost and olives. Nothing to indicate Pinot though…
