Just a perfect accompaniment to simply roasted chicken. Soft nose has bright cherry/red berry fruitiness, and a soft, beet-like earthiness, along with subtle cracked stones. In the mouth it’s soft and nearing maturity, with soft but adequate acids and a decent amount of soft tannin. The flavors have nicely-concentrated soft cherry fruit, and some nice stony minerality. This is a delicious wine. It has strong fruit on the nose, like blackberries and cherries, with a bit of spice and oak. Wonderful taut wine. The fruit pops on the mid-palette and the finish is clean with a slight tang. Had it with a maple-miso roasted salmon and it was spot on, and had it with some sous vide short ribs (with a reduction of this same wine) and it stood up nicely. — 8 months ago
