Château Prieuré-Lichine

Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Very enjoyable left bank bottling for $35 on the shelf, if not pretty closed. Decanted for 2+ hours and was just starting to reveal itself, still somewhat shy after 4+. Blackberry, stewed mulberry, earth, coffee grounds, garden, and spice. Not overly ripe or concentrated with a subtle bitter balance. Curious to see what day 2 is like. Good value candidate for cellaring though I wouldn’t hate a bit more acidity. — 3 days ago

Le Petit Chambord Vendanges Manuelles Cour-Cheverny AOC Romorantin 2006

A 2006 late harvest Romorantin from the Loire Valley. Off dry and delicious with food
Beeswax, hazelnuts, honeysuckle (def botrytised)
This wine leads with minerality but has flavors of lemon rind and stone fruit. 🫶

Le Prieuré Hautes Côtes de Nuits Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017

Beautiful color. Fresh, bright, juicy with nice acid. Red berries, flower petals, mulberry, little bit of forest floor and crushed rocks. Always had a good bottle from this producer. — 2 months ago

Le Clos Goillotte Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2009

Experienced this producer last year and wasn’t a fan but everyone deserves a second chance….Mr Prieure is redeeming himself…..Sommelier was a big fan too, recommending this over some other big names…..tasting notes: very light and delicate, scents of pickled cucumber (yes, really) and rhubarb. Not our usual deep berry concentration, this one is much more sophisticated, and deserving of the occasion and venue! — 7 months ago
