Had for our anniversary 2024. Fine lively bubbles. Bready and lightly acidic — 5 months ago
Yes and three times yes to this fresh and gourmet Canadian cab-franc, charmingly restoring the expected varietal notes (black cherries, raspberries, violet) vegetable notes, licorice, and mineral tip. The relief of the markers of the terroir (chalk, rifle stone) are not as revealed as in the Ligurian reference but there is a beautiful purity of the fruit that French mouths like mine know how to appreciate. Good price/pleasure ratio.
Beau rapport prix/plaisir. Je conseille. — 2 years ago
These champagnes simply do not miss. Clear salmon in color with particularly active, attractive bubbles. The nose is so immediately pleasing and oh so clean. All the red berries that you would expect along with semi sweet bread and rose water. Chalk is a superstar here.
One of the more impressive rosés I’ve tasted. Composed of 90/10 Chardonnay/Pinot Noir, this is a smoother champagne. Elegant and rather substantial, this has nice weight to it. Nicely restrained acidity throughout with the terroir singing.
Immensely drinkable and bright. Vibrant red fruits abound. Spice on the tongue that elevates this. And some exquisite chalkiness. That’s what truly makes this a top notch wine. I will definitely have to get more of this. — 2 months ago
The NV Blanc de Craie is 100% from Aÿ and Louvois, based on the 2020 vintage. Readers will find a brisk, nervy Champagne that sizzles with tension. Lemon peel, crushed rocks, mint and white pepper are all beautifully delineated. I very much like the energy and tautness here. In fact, this is one of my favorite wines in the range. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: December 18, 2023. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2024)

First off, the prettiest label from the house with the prettiest labels in the game. Light straw with gleaming tiny bubbles that just keep coming. Immediately you can just feel the minerality and it is stupendous. The nose is pure joy with chalk, slight lemon zest, chalk, cantaloupe, and a little chalk. Lavender scents along with a plethora of apples to go with a bit of yeast and warm spice.
Another beautiful Blanc de Blancs from Laherte Freres. Pure Chardonnay with no sulfur added from a single vintage. The acidity is striking and so nice while the structure and finesse is typical Laherte quality. Very fresh with a high level of salinity. It’s a long wine with nice aplomb and character.
The traits of the nose carry over to the palate with a burst of ripe citrus fruits. More apples and melon on the tongue with that lingering spice. Lemons and fresh herbs go a long way. A very long, satisfying finish. That’s the story with everything from Laherte, all bangers, no skips. — 2 years ago
