Bin 7 Riesling 2003

Famous #australian #riesling from the #clarevalley made by #accolade company #leasingham . From the hot season of #2003 though mot looking shabby; pale gold yes; spice and restraint not strong kero or honey; backward a little; evolving fruit; blessed by screwcap; 12.5%. — 9 years ago

Bin 61 Clare Valley Shiraz 1998

I really enjoyed this wine. A little stronger than most but did not stay in your mouth with a sharp aftertaste. I would recommend this wine three of us had it today at the table and we all liked it very much. — 10 years ago

Classic Clare Riesling 2005

Bright yellow in colour. Some TDN notes (kero) amongst the spicy citrus and mineral. The acid has diminished at 19 years and the palate has filled out. The previous Delectable note nearly 10 years ago (December 2014) said “ripping acidity “. 10 years cellaring saw that evolve into the lovely mature Clare Valley Riesling that it is today. — 2 months ago

Bin 68 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 1976

Hard to describe all the shades
So much in balance altogether
It has focus ripe fruit, decorating floral and multidimensional spices and so much more
One of those bottle u don’t believe what u just opened. Super long finish

@Ceccherini Cristiano You are getting hold of some brilliant old Aussie Wine! Stanley Leasingham was better back in those days than it is now IMO.

@Bob McDonald definitely I wouldn’t even bother to buy the current vintage. I got curious when I went to visit Lita and Tony Brady at Wendouree , they explained to me how important and influential Tim Knappstein was in Clare Valley at the time they took over at the property and so I looked into it. This particular wine probably wasn’t even made by Knappstein though cause I think he left Leashingham the year before or so, but altogether the winery was still following his directions. This is the beauty of wine and all of his magic 😉🙏

Individual Vineyard 😂
Because single vineyard is so 2010.
Great wine though.

Classic Clare Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

This wine won the Trophy for Best Aged Vintage Red at the 2012 Sydney Royal Wine Show. Can't see it myself. Some hints of camphor/menthol and earthy nuances typical of Clare Cab Sauv. Youthful still at 10 years and Full bodied. A good wine but no Trophy. An improved showing 118 weeks later on 30 April 2018. A full bodied Clare Valley Cabernet where the black currant and other black fruits take over the leafy Cabernet Notes. — 9 years ago
