Glaetzer

Amon-Ra Barossa Valley Unfiltered Shiraz

Been awhile since I’ve had this big boy. Juicy-jammy, but reined in. Big blackberry was expected, and echoed on the palate, but dried blackberry, oregano, dried black currant, tobacco, Turkish coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla, make it decadent. Violets, smoke, allspice and leather keep it honest. Pleasantly satisfying and a welcome diversion. .

The Laughing Magpie McLaren Vale Shiraz Viognier 2009

Charles (Chad) Bucklin
8.3

The first time I tasted this wine 6 weeks ago was at a large tasting and it had been double decanted. The second time tasting the wine was straight from bottle over three hours. The two were completely different. Straight from bottle was more of a classic #australian #shiraz , big, bold, chewy, and lacked balance. Whereas the double decanted bottle was more in the realm of #coterotie

Yalumba

Old Bush Vine Barossa Grenache 2015

MICHAEL COOPER DipWSET
9.0

#grenache from #barossa #barossavalley sort of a #village wine I really enjoyed it. It’s nice to see a large winery like Yalumba be versatile and grow wines like this one. Pale ruby color. Reminiscent in aspect and aromas to a Pinot, more savory and spicy on the palate with higher alcohol than a Pinot. Oak nice and subtle and well-integrated. #australian — 4 years ago

Mount Pleasant Wines

Lovedale Sémillon

Is always amazing to try Wines that are as old as you are (almost). The wine was on the brick of falling apart the only thing that was still there was fruit and a lot of vanilla from the oak, possibly American. Worth it a sipp just for the experience. #semillon #huntervalley #australian #andiswines makes a similar wine with single Vineyard from #amador — 8 years ago

Benefactor Cellars

South Eastern Australia Chardonnay 2013

Paul H
8.2

I initially did not like the 2013 Benefactor. In the beginning the nose was not pleasing and had odd scent to it. However after realizing it was actually way too cold we allowed it to get to an appropriate temperature. When it reached a better temperature it opened up with some nice aromas of apples and I would say River rock. Once it opened up there were touches of Citrus, pears, apples and a touch of oak to the taste. This is not a fabulous Chardonnay but it is drinkable and hopefully a good conversation with friends will make it enjoyable all the more. #Australian #chardonnay — 9 years ago
