Les Demoiselles Tatin

Château Hostens-Picant

Cuvée des Demoiselles Sainte Foy Bordeaux Sémillon Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon in blend, aged 9 months in oak, pale lemon with delicate aromas of citrus, stone fruits and floral note. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and lime citrus with notes of pepper and spice. Medium+ finish, slight cedar notes, vivid acidity and ends with herb mineral spice. Nice! — a month ago

Nice balance of acidity and fruit for a 16 year old wine. 2010. In fact it’s pretty fantastic. A bit of stewed apricots d hints of green apple. The tertiary elements are charming as heck. Go team! — 2 months ago

Lightness and fun leads. Toast and nuts follow. So like a lightly catered cocktail party in a wine. — 4 years ago

Y’quem two days in a row? Pinch me! Turpentine/French basement comes across the nose. A flavor punch to the palate, a mouthful of fruit and a looong finish - stewed apricot, peaches, apple. A hint of woodsiness (cypress?) and a sweet creaminess like crème caramel. Amazing wine that frankly overshadowed the apple tart tatin dessert pairing. — 3 months ago
