What a delight! Herbaceous with hints of manure at first, then giving way to sweet and sour cherries. Fine acidity, drunk too young. Lord it went down quick — 6 years ago
Oh my lord. What an extremely balanced, smooth wine. The aroma/nose is perfect, youthful fruits and berries, oak; but the taste is where it's really at. Sublime, smooth, nothing prominent, nothing hidden, all of them sitting in a equal row, like an extremely high end pair of headphones, nearly clinical. High alcohol content, low viscosity, translucent ruby color, presence of gas. What an absolutely incredible wine -- and it's from California!!! — 7 years ago
Please dear lord let it open to its full goodness. So far not. But the rich potential is there. — 2 years ago
Had this about 6 months ago. Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa was born at the beautiful Villa Vignamaggio in 1479, at the time her father, Anton Maria Gherardini was Lord of this ancient Tuscan Estate. Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh dark/red berry fruits and slight smoky spicy notes. On the palate Black Cherry and Cranberry flavors, well balanced with acidity and fine soft tannins. The finish is long ending with earthy citrus character. — 5 years ago
Thank you to my good friend Andy Bunch for bringing this beer to try tonight. A rare treat for sure. Took a while to open up, bit man, it’s hitting its stride a couple hours later with notes of semi sweet chocolate, espresso liquor, brownie batter, vanilla, toasted nuts and almond oil. A rich brew with a 15%+ ABV. Black as old motor oil and super mouth coating. Yum yum yum. — 6 years ago
Good lord…I can’t even taste any alcohol. Amazing balance, not jammy, finishes smooth. — 3 years ago
Takes a while to open up - had it in a decanter for 30 min and it needed more than double that. But once it opened, my lord, was it good. Soft, supple approach, with raisin and molasses, and more of the fruit seeping through in a warm, spicy finish. — 6 years ago

2003 vintage. Just enuff acidity to lord over the proceedings. Initially, “cheesy.” That dissipates somewhat and gets very harmonious very quickly. Cleans up a bit on the finish. Should be able to glide hither and yon for another 5-7 years at this level. 1.10.24. — 10 months ago
