Secret Santa... very nice but bot quite Don David — 6 years ago
Elegant Tempranillo-based blend (I believe it includes some Albillo) from 100+ year-old biodynamically farmed vineyards in La Aguilera, one of the most desirable areas within the Ribera del Duero appellation. Aged in used French oak barrels for 14 months. Smooth, balanced, balsamic notes — 7 years ago
Magna Vides’ entry level wine, a very fresh and unusual blend for Ribera del Duero (95% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha), sourced primarily from the winery’s youngest vineyards. Beautiful, fragrant nose. Lots of red fruit. Subtle herbal notes (mint, licorice, typical in La Aguilera). Fresh, velvety — 7 years ago
Omina Romana Chardonnay ARS Magna 2020, Lazio, Italy
Dark golden in color.
Nose of citrus, yellow apples, melons and spices.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with apples, lemons, oak, vanilla and Indian spices.
Spicy finish with nuts and more spices.
This is a very tasty Chardonnay from Lazio, Italy. Feels like a white Burgundy.
Showing nice complexity now, and feels young. Oaky and spicy. A good quality wine.
This 4 year old is easy drinking and good by itself or with food.
Aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months on the lees.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Pop and pour. A bit over a year and a half since my last btl. On the nose: alluring as ever with blackberry, blueeberry, vanilla, charcoal. On the palate, this seems a little less vibrant than I would like: good acid and fruit up front, but falls of quickly on the mid with finely grained, but attenuated tannin on the finish. If this btl is any indication, this is on the downslope, but still drinking well. — 5 years ago
Round, complex, full of dark fruits. Smooth mouthfeel and slightly drying tannins. Excellent Crianza, Love it. — 6 years ago
Needs some air time to fully show its complexity. Intense nose has freshly-sliced green apple and loads of slatey minerality. In the mouth there’s intense acidity magna-leving the crisp green apple and citrus pith fruit and mineral notes. Not the most concentrated or lengthy but a great value. — 2 years ago

Atypical oak-aged Verdejo from very old, organically-farmed vines in Nieva. Expressive nose. Citrus (lemon zest), tropical notes, marzipan, beeswax. Medium-bodied. Round, creamy. Lemon flavors. Zesty acidity — 5 years ago
Bright with a peppery finish, pretty well balanced, great with fatty meats. A touch strong on the oak. — 7 years ago
Unusual Ribera del Duero single varietal from some very old Bobal vines found amongst the area’s predominant Tempranillo. Native to the Utiel-Requena region in Valencia, Bobal is a rustic and quite underrated variety known for its big compact bunches and high yield, traditionally used for bulk wine production. In Ribera del Duero, where it is known as Valenciana, it was traditionally used to add color and structure to blends, but rarely vinified on its own. Taking its name from the local expression “Alma de Cántaro” (loosely translated to fool, naïve) represents Magna Vides’ heroic attempt to reclaim Ribera del Duero’s lesser-known and disappearing varieties. Fragrant. Herbal, balsamic notes. Somewhat citric, acidic finish. — 7 years ago

This finally came together. This blend of Cab S, Merlot, San Giovese and Syrah is in a great spot.
Nose filled with sweet red fruit, ripe cherries and almond paste. The tanins are soft and the mouthfeel silky. Nice herb touch too. Paired with spaghetti with tomatoes/ preserved lemon/ honey/ cream sauce and that matched very very well. — 7 months ago
