Mid crimson in colour. Lovely Cabernet aromas with a trace of blue fruits and a hint of violets. Very balanced and harmonious on the palate. Elegant. Plenty of flavour intensity and only 12.5% ABV. Tannins are fine but persistent. So balanced almost nothing stands out - the characteristics of a lot of great wines. Will cruise on to its 20th birthday and beyond. At my Chardonnay Challenge of 6 wines with very close scores the Heytesbury finished 6th. I still gave it 95 points and a Gold Medal. HH said βpowerful grapefruit and citrus - Gingin/Mendoza clones and 97 points β. A semi regular annual purchase for me. β 2 months ago
This is being served well chilled.
The nose shows bright fruits with a core of dark currants, dark spice and really beautiful florals.
The fruits are perfectly ripe & juicy; blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, raspberries on the palate edges, purple fruit blend, dry tobacco & leather, dry barrel shavings, lead pencil, dry crushed rocks, bold, drier M+ tannins, black coffee, anise to black licorice, dark chocolate, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, dry herbs, limestone marl, bright fresh and a little withering, dark, red, & purple flowers, very nice acidity and a fresh that is well; tensioned, structured, balanced, elegant that last 90 seconds and lands on dry tannins & earth. β 15 days ago
Typical nose of an Art Series Chardonnay with that dried pear character. On the medium weight palate a nice combination of ripe grapefruit and under ripe yellow peach. Medium minus acid. One canβt help but love this Chardonnay. A wonderful terroir, the Gin Gin clone, great winemaking, and an excellent vintage - ticks all the boxes. At its peak but enough acid for a few more years if you wish. That was my last bottle of the 2011. β a month ago

A little more beauty & fine elegance over the 2020.
Nose shows nice ripe, dark core fruits with fresh dark floral and spice.
The palate shows; lush mouthfeel with thick, ripe M+ tannins, blackberries, black raspberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, plum, creamy raspberries & purple fruits, fresh & dry tobacco, used raw leather, nice mid level baking spices, crushed, dry limestone, dry top soil, mix of some fresh & dry herbs, excellent level of dark spice-not overdone, anise, caramel, milk & dark chocolate, dark & red flowers framed in liquid violets, excellent round acidity with a velvety, lush, elegant finish that is very well balanced, structured that lasts 90 seconds. β 15 days ago

Very similar comments to the 2018. This is in the top echelon of Aussie Chardonnay. Just beautiful! πππ½ππ½ β 2 days ago
