Italian wine tasting with friends! These were my 3 wine selections from north to south:
🔹 Northern Italy: Tenuta Carretta ‘Bric Paradiso’ Roero Riserva 2015 (Piemonte - Nebbiolo)
🔹 Central Italy: Tiezzi Enzo ‘Poggio Cerrino’ Rosso Di Montalcino 2015 (Toscana - Sangiovese)
🔹 Southern Italy: Mazzei ‘Zisola’ Sicilia Noto Rosso 2014 (Sicilia - Nero D’Avola)
All of the were superb. All are highly recommendable. Cheers 🇮🇹🍷 — 5 years ago
I’m not a fan of #morellino but this is as good as it gets. #tuscany #italy — 6 years ago

Paid €25 for a half bottle at L’Osteria di Giovanni. A nice Chianti Classico Reserva with a good full flavor. Would be nice to find in the United States at a reasonable price. I had a 2019 in January 2026. Just saw that this wine is available in the United States in the 750 ML bottle for $40 at wine Junction in Somerville. What a great price for a half bottle here in Italy at a restaurant. — 5 months ago
WOW! The wait was worth it. So silky…. Cocoa powder, dusty blueberry, long finish. Needed about 3o minutes of airtime but after that it was amazing. Drink now.

2021 vintage.
50 % Sangiovese and 50 % Syrah from Maremma. The vineyards are 10 km from the coast. All grapes are hand picked.
Syrah is macerated on the skins for one hour and Sangiovese is macerated for 2 hours.
3 months on the lees in stainless steel.
A bright, pale pink colour.
Fresh and fragrant with red berry and rose petals on the nose.
Crisp and racy acidity with bright cherries, white flowers and minerality on the finish.
Lees aging adds to the mouthfeel. — 3 years ago

Earthy minerals bright berry fruit. Some vanilla. Great! — 7 years ago
This is the type of wine I really enjoy. Earthy, not too dry, not sweet. A little dry, but not to make you pucker, medium tannins, NOT fruit forward (thank god). It tastes like an Italian red wine. Served it with a bolognese-ish pasta. Worked well, very enjoyable. Sangiovese, merlot and petit verdot. — 2 months ago
This is an amazing wine! The Petite Verdot stands on its own as a real star ⭐️! I loved this the first time I tried it (Molesini Savor Sicily wine & food tour), and I loved it even more paired perfectly with my osso buco. Definitely worth the corkage fee 🤩 — 5 months ago
Very pleasant, soft tannins. Went well with duck confit, — 8 months ago

Leather licorice, raspberry vanilla, dark purple, bright leather licorice raspberry acid — 5 years ago
It's a great blend. The initial sip was tart cherry which very quickly tapered into a dry finish. Really a lively and unexpected wine. I would definitely recommend. Reminded me of Piazzo Barbera a bit. — 6 years ago

A beautifully balanced wine with black currant, black cherry, with hints of violet, vanilla and leather. There is a beautiful hint of fennel and eucalyptus on the long finish. Most impressive is the finesse of this wine - great flavor without being overly extracted. Lovely — 18 days ago
