Mon Chevalier Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Exceptional Sonoma cab. Big, dark, soft and lush. Jammy in texture, dark cherry finish — 12 days ago

Château Les Trois Croix

Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

A blend of mostly Merlot with a little Cabernet Franc, deep ruby red color with a bouquet of dark black fruit, and a slight herb nose, aged for 12 months in oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currant and cherry, with licorice and herbs. Fine grainy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and a touch of earthy mineral notes. — 6 months ago

Les Vignes de Mon Père Côtes du Jura Savagnin

Intensive kaleidoscope of sumo orange, olive oil cake and leaf pile. Motor oil viscosity but featherweight palate. Batard finish. Wow. — 18 days ago

Domaine de la Vieille Julienne

Les Trois Sources Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2016

At 9 yrs, this is firing on all cylinders. So much on the nose, plush and ripe, and lively backbone that invites you to drink more. Exact bottle I needed to drink tonight — 5 months ago

Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils

Cuvée De Mon Aïeul Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2000

Used the Durand on the cork - soaked to the edge. Decanted for 2 hours.

This wine had some gaminess. Smooth. Fruit was a bit wild and overpowered by the savory flavors.

Paired well with the chicken skewers and onions. Needed complex flavors in the food to pair well.

Good but quite a bit below the Beaucastel

Les Trois Chênes Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2020

Youthful medium-dark color, great red and blackfruit aromas and flavors, excellent balancing acidity, still shows quite a bit of structure, but tannins are not harsh, I’d guess 3-5 more years of further aging is merited, but it may last much longer than that, long, lingering finish, excellent Crozes!! — 5 months ago
