Ninquén Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Blend

This is 60-40 Cab and Syrah. Dark rusty, red. Smells like leather, red licorice, humid humus, and water plants. Flavors are big, smoky and pronounced. Black licorice, tobacco (cigars and pipes), and black cherry juice. This is a big, dense wine that hasn’t softened up much even though it’s almost 10 years on. Nice combo though of the unheard of Cab-Syrah mix. Got another bottle. Maybe age it another 10 years and see how it preforms. — 3 years ago

Reserva Quatro Red Blend 2005

Must be in my cellar for like 12+ years.... Tried several times over the years, but only now it gets to a nice balanced point in maturity... At start it was mainly a very jammy fruitbomb. And that grew into a much more balanced Cab Sauvig, Carmenere, Syrah tasting wine. All sharp edges have gone, smooth and silky tanine. Just enough acids to keep it interesting, almost no sweets. Nice full herbs and spice flavours: cinamon, bay, licquorish over cheyy tones...
So the recommendation was to drink before 2010, and I'm happy I ignored that.
