It’s like dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight, and that dance is the tango. — 4 years ago

Easy to drink, smooth and fruity/sweet(ish) — 6 years ago
Superb nose of cherry and earth and blood. Very intense! The palate is superb too with an exquisite balance between a delicious cherry juice and a long acid backbone. Slight tannins kick in in the end to mark a long finish with fruits and cherry moonlight notes. Once again foillard delivers big time in a more subtle, precise way than 14 and 15. Low alcohol content and decent tannins make this wine easy drinking. And not bad for a prelude to something more serious down the road. — 9 years ago
Probably my favorite beer from Moonlight. — 9 months ago
Topaz with heavenly streamers stretching for perfection. Creamy head of structured perfection in terms of density and longevity. Perfect sheet of fog lacing falls like a slo-mo curtain to reveal layer two of mountain snows reflecting moonlight. Nose of bananas foster in all its blazing brandy and it’s caramelized olfactory topography; a malt image in sensory sepia to match the mountainscape. Nutmeg, cola and pecan dessert vies with baklava. The palate is a revelation in balance. The expected Belgian malt emerges in contrast to a dappled vanilla and Connecticut tobacco, pecan shell dryness, and chicory coffee before returning to a root tonic sweetness, and cardamom. #kwak #belgianspecialbeers #belgianale #belgianbeer #pauwelkwak #pauwelkwakbrewery #beer #bier #birra #biere #ale #ceveza #cerveja #belgium #belgian — 6 years ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. This time it's a delightful Cabernet from Sonoma County.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Strong nose with blackberries, blackcurrants, plums, cherries, light vanilla, eucalyptus, earth, licorice, mint, cloves, spices, dark chocolates and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, leather, chocolates and earth.
Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from knights Valley in Sonoma County. Well balanced with nice complexity and a very soft and smooth mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food. Fruit forward, spicy and elegant. This is a good wine to sip on by the porch.
Needs an hour to open up properly and balance itself out.
At this point the high alcohol is not noticeable, which is always nice.
This Single Vineyard Cabernet is very approachable now, and will be good in the next 10 years.
I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.
Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Medium ruby quite wide light garnet rim . Touches of wood spice and ripe strawberry , raspberry , star anise . Quite ripe and sweet fruit in the mouth, touches of dry spices as well. There is a meaty quality to this in the palate , quite rich and mouth-filling . Ok acidity , quite ripe but noticeable tannins , just protruding alcohol . On the finish nice ripe slightly darker fruits, spiced strawberries , ok length . Probably just slightly young , needs another couple of years and will hold well for at least further 6-8 years. The recently tried 2016 Moonlight Race impressed me a little more than this — 3 years ago
