Les Larmes Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Really fine juice. Gorgeous, unmistakable Pinot aromatics. Creamy strawberry, wild cherries and raspberries. Wet leaves and forest decay. Palate is smooth, silky, and creamy in character with oak in the right place. Polished. Called Sonoma Pinot blind. Hella’ tasty. — 9 days ago

One of the handful of producers that can get me to taste Anderson Valley pinot. Not a fan. This was nice. Personally scored it 9.1/9.2. In most other hands, this rolls in at an 8.8.

Spring Mountain Vineyard

Elivette Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Classic. Treasure found at the local wine shop for a deal. Beautiful Napa cab nose full of blue/darkfruit. You notice the blend on the palate - cab franc, petit verdot, merlot and a bit of malbec. Just really well put together. Going to venture out and get more tomorrow. — 24 days ago

@Paul K Yes, tasted some of the new project from there but didn’t like it enough to put in my notes. I’d hold off taking the plunge for another year or two. Pick up a handful of bottles in the market/online, reevaluate the next two vintages and then take the plunge or route the $$$ elsewhere depending on the results.

This was so well behaved. Subtle nose of pineapple and roasted nuts. Mid palate presents honeysuckle, honeydew melon and moderate acidity. Finishes soft and round. Unsure that this will further improve with cellaring. — 2 days ago

Weir Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice, aged for 16 months on French oak, 58% new, vineyard planted in 1991. On the palate concentrated flavors of strawberry and black cherry with orange citrus, herbs, vanilla and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, floral, spice and oaky tones. Very Nice! Will age! — 10 days ago

Carneros Chardonnay 2022

Tropical fruit aromas. Floral nose. Full bodied and well balanced. Tropical fruit, citrus, lemon flavors. Toasted Oak is balanced and does not distract from, or mask the fruit flavors. Nicely done.

Philip Togni Vineyard

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

March 1st. I opened this one 5 years too soon but a beautiful Cab even as a “baby.” Velvety mouthfeel. Nuanced. Everything I love about Togni. — 2 days ago

Cain Vineyard & Winery

Cain Five Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2011

A Burgundian-styled Cab Sauv from the one of the most compelling Sub AVA of Napa mountains (Mayacamas) which has an amazing soil and solid influence from the Pacific. Crafted with an amazing balance of 68% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, 5% and the rest to round it off its structure and age ability. The 2011 is still climbing to its peak. Enticing notes of dry red fruits on the nose and mouth, delicate, outstandingly silky and nearly perfect balance!
The finish shows its beauty. (if you find it, it won’t disappoint you) it will give the run for the money.
