Amontillado Pedro Ximénez

A very decent & honest Amontillado—& crazy cheap, like under 20$. Just a slight chill helps the chicken bouillon & toffee notes pop. — 6 years ago

Bodegas Mauro

Castilla y León Red Blend 2016

Produced by the Mauro winery in Castilla-León, a project of Mariano García, a winemaker known for being technical manager of Vega Sicilia for 30 years. A blend of Tempranillo with 5% Syrah and aged for 16 months in French oak. Ripe Berry fruits, powerful yet elegant, with spice & smoky notes on full, very tight, tannins. Lingering finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with mineral earthy tones, a joy to Sip!! Tasting great, has much more aging potential. Very Nice! — 6 years ago

Bodega Comando G

Tumba del Rey Moro Sierra de Gredos Madrid Garnacha 2015

Just outside Mardid, in the Sierra del Gredos lies the Tumba del Rey Moro Vineyard. Until a few years ago, this site was almost impossible to access, until Fernando García & Dani Landi spent several months removing brush and overgrowth in order to be able to farm the 60-70 year old vines planted to the granite and quartz soils. This 100% Garnacha is simply gorgeous, with a incredible silky, polished texture, and the elegance and refinement that easily rivals some of the finest wines on the planet. Its characteristics of wild berries, floral, spices, earth and herbs are pure and focused. It continues to thoroughly impress with its wonderful precision and balance through the long finish. While this is certainly impressive now, in due time, this could be something very special. — 5 years ago
