Paradise Hills Vineyard Merlot 2002

I wasn’t expecting this to work since the last one I opened was shot. This tastes a bit different than I expected but is still has a great color. The nose is a bit muted which I don’t think is a surprise and it’s a bit more acidic than I recall. Residual/crystalized sugar at the bottom of the glass so maybe that has precipitated out and changed the flavor a bit. The finish is lasting but more on the puckering side than I would have expected. — 18 days ago

Valley View Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Primarily (83%) Cabernet Sauvignon with some other Bordeaux varietals blended in. Pleasant aromas of violets, roses, black currant/black berry. Dark cooked fruit flavors with hints of soy sauce and beef jerky. Pleasant touch of oak on the finish. Fresh acidity. Good balance. Pleasant surprise. — 2 years ago

Reserve Chardonnay 2022

Bright gold. Inviting nose and medium full palate of lightly carameled apple, butterscotch, and white pepper. Medium plus acidity brightens it all from entry to medium short finish. The "popcorny" element of previous vintages has gone away in favor of a more balanced fruit to oak to malo ratio yielding a lighter version of the big Carneros style of Robert Lloyd's namesake offering. Very nice if you like this style. Drink now. — 7 months ago

Schrader Cellars

Boars' View The Coast Pinot Noir 2018

Deep Ruby color, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral, herb and complex spice, aged 12 months in 50% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry, plum and strawberry with pepper, tea, herbs, licorice and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, long finish, ending with earthy spice, fruit, tobacco and mineral tones. Very Nice! — a month ago

Perhaps too young at 9? Cranberry almost orange creamsicle like nose with thicker jammy body notes of licorice all throughout and a sharp finish — 7 months ago
