Pure Paso Proprietary Red Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

v20. Hard to beat Paso Red Blend. Very good! Soft, Smokey, candied nose. Fresh, deep, blackberry and soft tar fruit. Bright, peppery, chocolate and hint of leather finish. Nicely balanced… go to Red Blend. Very good! — 8 days ago

Château Lafite Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2004

+1 hour decant(some fine/chunky sediment). A splendid crimson red color. On the nose: wonderful bouquet with plum, stewed meat, cassis, sweet tobacco, funky earth, leather. Taste: silky, finessed, balanced wine with red berries/plum, coffee grounds, cedar, tobacco, and a nice peppery pencil lead long finish. YUM! Pure class in a glass. — a month ago

Château Margaux

Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Deep garnet in color and sous bois on the nose. Integrated black fruit, cedar, and graphite on the palette. Absolute and and pure “yuminess” to complement truffle fries in duck fat and a NY strip! — 4 days ago

Domaine La Barroche

Cuvée Pure Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenache

Pure. CdP. Made with 100% Grenache, this wine drank well despite its young age (2021). Too tanic on its own, but paired with steak it was dreamy. — a month ago

Insignia Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

Delectable Wine
9.6

The 2012 Insignia is in great shape today. Bright acids lend tremendous energy to a mid-weight Insignia that is more about finesse rather than power. Sweet red-fleshed fruit, cedar, tobacco, mint and rose petal are all beautifully delineated. There's not much left to say. The 2012 offers tons of pure pleasure. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2024)

Morgon Gamay 2022

It is very pure—red raspberry, red cherry, and licorice, amped up with damp soil on the nose. The palate brings more licorice/anise/tarragon vibes, with a little lilac winking on the finish. The acid is vibrant, the tannins are dusky, and the alcohol is respectful. — 15 days ago

Saint-Joseph Syrah 2020

My wife said it smelled like fart but to my nose pure barnyard, it dissipated (does that make it more fart-like?). Mid-weight and gorgeously textured Syrah with no hard edges, tangy ripe red berry, black tapenade, white pepper and leathery tones in a velvety package. Needed a short decant and was a super match for braised rib. — a month ago

LOL. The answer is yes, more fart-like.

Nice. This sub appellation is coming on strong. Try the Chave St. Joseph if you haven’t already.

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Dark and brooding with great rich fruit. Dark plum, leather, cedar, a whiff of iodine. Still tight and pure. Very good. Years ahead. — 5 months ago
