Proving yet again that the Adelaide Hills makes excellent Chardonnay. Has been “worked “ somewhat. The winemaking team has a formidable brains trust with Adam Wadewitz as the Chief Winemaker with input from two MWs in Michael Hill-Smith and David leMire. An excellent modern take on Australian Chardonnay. Stone fruit, minerality, struck match - a nice citric acid cut to finish off. — 4 months ago

Starts great from the first pour. Nose sings of petrol and the palate answers with acidified caramelized pineapple. Pear, flowers, honey and more dance across the tounge. — a month ago
I have several previous Delectable notes on this brilliant wine. As fellow Delectable taster Scott Rowe said of this wine “Epic”. Sadly my last of the 2015 vintage Tolpuddle Pinot Noir. There were too many things going for it not to be a success. :-
Coal River Tasmania; Shaw and Smith Winemaking team; 2015 vintage. There were spicy red cherries on the nose. A stalky whole bunch note. (50% whole bunch fermentation). See previous notes. Every year since has been a similar success. — 3 months ago
Yoghurt, brambles, hot tiles, lavender, balsamic sweet and sour, youthful, seems to be searching for some balance. — 10 months ago

Really special bottle nearly sabotaged by the waiter’s feeble attempts at coping with the cork. Stellar and refined, still not really at its peak after three hrs but sublime. Would love to drink a bottle over a couple of days. Winemaker evidently says that the bottles take a minimum of 30 yrs to come to maturity. First bottling was 1982! — 8 hours ago
