Really nice lingering finish. Good acidity. Medium body. — 6 years ago
Previously drank 15' and 14' sequentially and with slight yet pronounced acute differences due to vintage in the fruit, all varietals are pronounced and none overpowers the other. They seem to be adjusted to give the best presentation accordingly. The 13' had lesser vaccuum in bottling but did not sacrifice potential during storage as it fruit is still suddenly vibrant with syrah a top note. Tannins pierce the tip of the tongue and gradually roll to backside of the palate with pleasant ripened red cherries and red plums exclusively, slight smoke from surely light and medium toast from what seems to be American and French oak casks. This surely keeps a nice bouquet of spice lingering. Properly stored this production could poor well through 2025 where the plums might supersede the cherries, which might be more sophisticated. Either way all have been well built for the long haul and will eventually have a following for the experienced. Kudos to those who design wines and not just produce. — 6 years ago

Zingy. Cedar, herbs and cherrywood on the nose. Flavor is complex, cedar-y and classic Spaniard. Deep and rich for the age. Nice sauna and berry extravaganza. Fully expressive of a place and time. — 8 years ago
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Saeculum Cellars (Bodega Pierce) in Cochise County Arizona. Good with meatloaf, boutique chocolates and helps with warding off the days stress. — 9 years ago
Not many CA semillons floating around. Legendary vineyard! Preserved lemon, nuts, honeysuckle, honey with a bit of spice, hint of vanilla, good funk, great acidity. I keep wanting more. Amazing with point Reyes pierce point cheese. — 4 years ago

Interesting varietal, saline notes — 6 years ago
Quarantine Day 10: I enjoyed this muscadet. Would pair so well with oysters or a grilled fish. High acidity and salinity really pierce the pallet. The nose is tough on this one. Maybe some green apple? Some pear? And maybe even some kind of flinty matchbook smell. It’s good. — 6 years ago
Smooth red blend, fruit forward cherry and blackberry, tannins pick up late with a earthy finish, bit of acid late. nicely done overall. — 7 years ago
Nicely realized Cab Franc. Nose is a pleasant combination of berry and caramel. Not fruit forward but nice traces of blackberry and plum. Tannins take over late. Good complexity and a good unique wine.

This wine is so good, it should not be overlooked. Apparently, Kistler (Jason Kesner) produces this wine for restaurants. But that doesn’t mean us mere mortals can’t enjoy it at home. Some would consider this a mass-market proposition, but it’s anything but that. It possesses a transparency of an individual story, which is easy to read. There are no missing pages or chapters. This wine is well structured and prismatic in terms of its complexity, layers and minerality. Butterscotch, honey and calcium pierce the taste buds, and at a price I consider to be reasonable for such an outstanding product. Check out Kistler’s website. They hide nothing. It screams about very considered wine-making at its very best. Consider this for short-term cellaring only. — 3 years ago
