Classy. Smooth, a bit about it. Let's get more. Enjoyed for J's birthday. — 5 years ago
Not as good as Pieropan, but still a very bright and lovely garganega from one of the region's oldest producers. — 9 years ago

Along w/ Pra & Pieropan - the royalty of Soave. Ca’Rugate also make fantastic reds. Their wines always technically correct and strike the proper balance of extraction & finesse. This was no different: floral and citrus, vein of minerality, suave acidic backbone, delicious finish. — 5 years ago
Liquid honey, deep golden, lightly fragranced — 9 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Consistent throughout. The 2019 “La Rocca” pours a bright, deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe, squishy tropical and orchard fruit: pineapple, apricot, yellow flowers, nuts, saffron and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, elegant with a silky texture. This worked wonders with homemade Runza’s. This is a significant step up from the Soave Classico. Drink now through 2034. — 2 months ago

In a lovely spot right now, the single-vineyard 2019 Calvarino from Soave icon Pieropan is a gorgeous, pithy, inviting example of what the region has to offer. It benefits from time out of the fridge, when floral aromas of bitter orange, thyme, honey and lemon emerge. It strikes a beautiful balance on the palate between its bitter, acidic character and flecks of sweetness – like a great lemon tart, if that isn’t too crude. It might not be the most complex white wine out there, but it more than makes up for it in sheer drinking pleasure. Best enjoyed on a sunny day with a pasta al limone.
