Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Fantastic. A southeast brunello. Immediately dark cherry, touches of plums, spice, and the acidity and tannins integrated well. As it decanted, the tannins soften drastically with the acidity slightly overpowering, but nevertheless, the fruit stayed and lingered til the end. — a month ago

Terlo Barolo Nebbiolo 2010

Apologies for the soiled label. Pale Ruby with a tawny edge - almost transparent. Dusty earthy mushroom aromas. Oak is absorbed and so are the tannins. Barely medium weight, elegant in fact. Interesting for a Barolo / cherry notes on palate. Perfect to accompany food - in this case home made pizza. One of the lightest Barolos I’ve ever tried but very enjoyable. — 4 months ago

La Collina dei Lecci

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2017

Nice Brunello and a real value at Wegmans’ price. Blackberry and stewed plum, cinnamon and leather, chewy tannins, juicy. Not too heavy. — 12 days ago

Gran Bussia Barolo Nebbiolo 1982

I believe this was Aldo’s top Barolo back in the day(??), this is much more evolved than the 1982 Gaja Barbaresco, drying tannins and some just barely on the downside soy notes detract, as my brother always tells me, rarely are older wines great, but sometimes individual bottles are, still a very good 43-year-old Barolo!! — 5 months ago
