Star Lane Vineyard

Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

2009. Similar notes to the 2005. Less eucalyptus notes, more dried fruit. Inky color, iron minerality, cassis driven, pretty fruit, tannins still grippy. Tobacco and mint on the finish. Cork disintegrated while opening, but juice intact! 😁 — 17 days ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1975

1975 vintage. From magnum. Decent fill and cork. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Medium body. Nose remained angular and sharp throughout but flavors vacillated between finesse and brutish. Not the star of the night, yet impressive nonetheless. Out of magnum, looks to have 5-10 more years left of quality in store. 3.5.24. — 8 months ago

Star Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Perfectly aged. Smooth and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. Underrated here. Classic California Cabernet with excellent balance. Not overly bold or overpowering — 3 months ago

Matthiasson

Linda Vista Vineyard Chardonnay 2022

The acid here is the star of the show. Linear and focused; there’s an electricity here that is very powerful like German acid level good. Highly recommend. Drank at Otherside Wine, Glen Cove, NY — 6 months ago

Red Ass Rhubarb Red Blend

Quintessential to the history of South Dakota was homemade rhubarb wine! This is a great representation of what tartness can do to balance the sweetness inherent in some of the non-grape wines. Like the tart cherry wines of Michigan, this is iconic of South Dakota. Love it! — 2 years ago
