Final night of the cruise dinner in Le Bistro. Might be the first time we went with seafood dishes and a white wine! Had this at chef Avillez’s Bairro in Lisbon’s Chiado neighborhood. First time trying a Dao DOC wine, and it was splendid. Medium bodied, dark fruit and peppery. A nice contrast to the lighter vino verde’s I’ve had a lot of in Portugal. A bottle of this in front of me would be dangerous. — 3 years ago

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing red and black fruits with light wood, spices, chocolates, herbs and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.

Still young and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and a good food wine too.

A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. Aged in new French oak barrels for 24 months.

14% alcohol by volume.
