Rainbow 🌈 End is one of our favorites 😬 — 2 years ago
short breaths will engulf you in all things lime: juice, zest, aid, ice ~ but then deeper breaths allow a spectrum including Granny Smith and Golden Delicious, tonic, minerals, blossoms, rainbow sherbet and orange marmalade resting atop shortbread
it’s like a mix of citrus juices with peach and mango nectar ~ simultaneously sharp acidity and minerality with a nearly creamy sensation ~ perplexing yet ultimately enjoyable — 4 years ago

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot (60/40), this is a delicious & inexpensive left bank Bordeaux. I will say that a 30+ minute decant really helped remove some intial reduction. Afterwards this wine presents black currant & plum with notes of graphite and cigar box with a palate that is medium bodied with just enough well integrated tannins to pair well with reverse seared ribeye steaks alongside rainbow carrots! Popped and poured; no formal notes. As a long-time admirer of Laurence's Cuvée Réservée Rouge, this was my first time trying her Blanc. Admittedly, I have often struggled with white wines from the Rhône as they too often lack the acid I want. This is partly why I haven't made it a priority. However, I've had some very impressionable moments with well-aged Hermitage Blanc so I have remained open minded. Which leads me to this bottle of 2021 Cuvée Reservée Blanc; a blend of mostly Clairette with some Grenache blanc, Bourboulenc and a touch of Roussanne. From the very first smell, I was convinced that I had been clearly missing out. Beautifully perfumed with white flowers, cantaloupe, apricot and just a little citrus. This was so fresh, so sexy. It was equally sexy on the palate where all the notes were packaged in the most delightfully silky texture. The finish was long. It should be noted that we paired with rainbow trout, zucchini, summer squash topped with yuzu tobiko. This pairing slapped. Based off this experience, I would drink these now. That's not to say that they will be undrinkable with a few more years of age but I guess, why wait? The freshness is awesome and super compelling right now. — a year ago
Oh, Paco y Lola, how I have missed you. Moving from SF to PDX, I could not find you in any of the usual places and believed that, perhaps, Oregon didn’t permit you to be imported. But SURPRISE, here you are in rainbow Pride colors. You don’t quite live up to my memories (2020 wasn’t a good year for any of us) with a bit too much grapefruit pith, but still, you are lovely. Dark and thick. Age has done wonders for this wine. Over extracted years ago and mostly mellowed now with good fruit and some earth showing over time. Nose of dry dirt, black raspberry, blackberry, red currant, cherry, rainbow peppercorn. Good acidity with mellow tannins, oily, a bit tart on the tip of the tongue. On the palate more earth, a touch of mushroom, more black raspberry, very similar to the nose with maybe a touch of dark chocolate. — 3 years ago

Still an energetic ten-year old. Serious throughout with a fading of acid that opens up a rainbow mosaic finish. Wow. — 7 months ago
