Very nice! Tropical fruit, some peach notes, and a nice acid backbone. Great wine on a hot day — 2 years ago
What Randy said... seems to have improved more with age. — 5 years ago
A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.
This wine is made by Michel Rolland. Large and in charge merlot. Mocha, sweet pipe tobacco, and a lot of ripe blackberry. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Cab lovers merlot. — 7 years ago
Amazing older Napa Cabernet, redfruits (currants and cassis), this is amazingly fresh and youthful, structure is there, just a faint green note pops out in the super long finish, great wine (and clearly showing much more youthful than the 1986 Dunn Napa we opened in mid-March)!! Randy killed it in this vintage, planning to open a 1987 Howell Mountain Cabernet in the next few weeks, it should be fantastic!! — 16 days ago

This wine is made by John Duvall of Penfolds. Dark overripe berries, smoke, cassis, currant and some smoked bacon. Not the northern Rhône/Cayuse like funky Syrahs...this is more Napa Syrah that is rich, structured and voluptuous. Notes of violets and caramel. One of my favorites of the night. — 7 years ago
I confirm Randy Fuller‘s statement. A fresh and lovely sparkling white as it‘s best! — 2 years ago
Really nice Syrah. Easy sipping. Smooth. — 3 years ago
Fun afternoon at Classic with great company. Glad you could join us Bryan.
This is unicorn wine, ladies and gentlemen. Never thought I’d get to try one of these as they are super rare (and stupid expensive). Old vines, actually, as this was the original vineyard Randy planted back in the ‘70s. Sadly, ‘13 was the last vintage of this as it was replanted. It’s undoubtedly Dunn in its power and structure with an added sweet, velvet mid palate and finish. Charcoal/smoke, roasted blue and black fruit, and clove. Finish is just a mind-blowing evolution of potpourri, baked berry pie and savory notes. Deserves a table to its own and a few more years to grow up to its potential. Awesome stuff @Mark Flesher . — 6 years ago
