The Pinot meunière here is a give away to what this is! It’s a fun champagne not as elegant as say Pierre Moncuit or Gimminet but not as heavy as Selosse or even Pol Roger. Went brilliantly with some spicy meats, and a mixture of Greek and Indian food! — 6 years ago

It can be difficult for me to identify the flavors in wine, but the pinot noir in this wine expressed beautiful fruit on the nose and palate, but slightly higher acidity which (to me) clashed ever so slightly with the taste. Don't mistake me though, this wine is excellent and is very well done — 4 years ago

An underrated producer, in my opinion, though my first time with the Heri-Hodie cuvée.
100% Pinot meunièr; perpetual reserve in stainless since 1995; 3g/l dosage; disgorged March 2023
I’ve said it before, but meunièr can really strut its stuff via perpetual reserve/solera style. The natural fruit forward tendency of the grape with the oxidative character of the aging profile marry really well. My benchmarks for this style are Mousse Fils L’Or de Eugene and Delouvin’s Perpetual…both of those show a bit more richness and spiced cider, whereas the stainless steel here provides a brighter lift. Needed a few hours in bottle to open, lots of red apple, yellow citrus and orange zest, and cinnamon aromatically. Trending toward golden apple and pear on the palate, this has a kiss of honeyed richness on the mid-palate before the limestone mineral takes over at the finish. Tasty. — 7 months ago
This was a stunner from the start. If I could afford to start each day the way Churchill did, the Jacquesson 7xx series would be my Pol Roger. This stuff is so consistently what I want in a Champer. It is aromatic. It’s got layers of flavor. It’s got body. It’s got verve. Yeah baby. — 6 years ago
