Pop and pour. A splendid ruby red color. On the nose: jumping from the glass is candied cherries, earth, clove, smokey oak, floral, cola. Taste: smooth, creamy wine with just a slight dark cherry, tea, fig, dried herbs, minerals, and a spiced earthy medium finish. Fan of Boars View pinots, but there are better vintages. — 25 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. No formal notes. The 2006 “Amber Knolls Vineyard” blows the mind. Yes, I know, it’s made by Schrader but this humble Lake County designation was meant to be enjoyed early while one allowed the more significant Schrader Cabernet Sauvignon’s mature. Yet here we are, thoroughly enjoying this 18 years from vintage. Fruit not only hanging on; dare I say this is still developing? Structure is sound. Drink now through 2030. Very impressive. — 9 months ago

This wine is an absolute standout, delivering a rich and full-bodied experience that doesn't disappoint. From the first sip, it bursts with deep berry flavors, offering a perfect balance of ripe fruit and complexity. Hints of tobacco and licorice add depth, while a subtle touch of chocolate rounds out the finish beautifully. The structure is bold yet smooth, making every glass an indulgent experience — 14 days ago
