Big storm and power just went out at 3 in the afternoon. Breaks my heart to put work aside and open this!
Almost have it 93. The nose is great. Violets, strawberry, and burnt orange peel. Palate is fun too. Slightly reductive, cherry, strawberry, salinity, and minerality.
I purchased this at North Loop Wine / Spirits in Minneapolis. Check out this shop if you haven’t/can. Great selection! Very helpful staff as well. I asked for the best Pinot under $60 and he passed quite a few easy names to give me this. So glad he did! They have a great selection of high end stuff, maybe best in MN? This 2015 vintage is deeper, brooding, and beautiful. Dark fruit and tobacco with earthy herbs on the nose—mint, cilantro, and dirt—almost like an amaro. — 3 years ago
Funk. Cherry 7Up masked with swamp bacteria. I love it. — 6 years ago
Low alcohol. High fizz. Lots of funk. Fuck yeah! — 6 years ago
Moonhill version 2. Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Pinot gris. From 2015-2020 vintages. Wow is this complex. Pinkish orange in the glass. Nose initially natty orange wine, but then it turned a corner after 2.5 hours. Now nose of honey, lavender, fresh baked bread, nuts, cherry blossoms or even cherries. Could smell for days. Palate is a mix of texture and flavor. More acidity and funk. Also more nuts with fruit and flowers in the background. I’m guessing this needs a day or more of air to come together. Will let the other bottle sit for awhile. Blown away once again by what this winery is doing. — 2 years ago

Such a well balanced light bodied red. Cranberry, cherry, jolly rancher, stones, some grass, forest, wet earth. This really hits the tart fruit in a coastal Oregon forest vibe! — a month ago
