October 18, 2023. Purchased at the vineyard July 2021 — a very special tasting experience! Enjoyed with dinner — wild Alaska sockeye salmon and potatoes al gratin. Lovely expression of Williamette Pinot. Complex flavors of red fruit with a hint of mushroom. NOTE: This review is for Bergstrom Temperance Hill Vineyard, Oregon Pinot Noir Pinot — a year ago
Blend of Mourvèdre (high percentage), Grenache, Cinsault and Uni Blanc. Beautiful sockeye salmon color. Floral, spicy and citrusy on the nose. Flavors of apricot, red berries, pomegranate, orange zest, watermelon and fresh herbs. Beautiful minerality and saltiness on the finish and a crisp and chalky texture. Powerful! — 2 years ago

We checked with Marichel and they suggested we finish the 2013s. Last night we made a grilled sockeye salmon and enjoyed this last vintage. Jess wrote the tasting notes: Colour—showing an elegant tawny sheen in the decanter, deepening to reveal a deep pool of rich burgundy in the glass.
Nose—Everything all at once and warming the nostrils swiftly! Richly stewed plums and bright current overtones with an edge of just sliced green pepper. Dark chocolate with violet petals and granny’s Christmas fruitcake. Hint of earth, wood chips, a drop of orange bitters.
Palate — rich brambly fruit, light oak with faint menthol, cherry cola bright note, lingering savoury notes of leather and cranberry, silky tannins, subtle body. — a year ago

This was the year of the heat dome in British Columbia. Plus 40 degrees Centigrade in the Okanagan Valley for a week. Not fun.
