Powerful tannins, cassis, blackberry, sage, graphite. — 3 years ago
Château Croix de Labrie, Stella Solare Blanc, Vintage 2018. 13.5% ABV.
Comprised of predominantly Sémillon as well as Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris.
Golden hue; a floral-forward Bordeaux Blanc with a bouquet of orange blossom, jasmine, honeysuckle on the nose and palate, also orange peel, passion fruit, cantaloupe, melon, and wet stone notes. Rich mouthfeel. — 5 years ago
This is an excellent wine, I just don’t love this style of Syrah. Big, opulent, silky, the tannins are fairly well integrated. Drank it by itself, maybe a food pairing would help. Cabernet and Cab blends are where Col Solare shines for me. — 2 years ago
The 2010 Solare was an outstanding vintage, made out of blend of mainly Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera. Its beautiful ruby color has started to show tints of garnet on the rim, the nose is full of aromas of cranberries, tart cherries, plums all in different stages. The palate is full, balanced, rich with lively acidity, soft tannins and a long complex finish.
I personally enjoy wines with age as I like to explore how the flavors and aromas change over time. In this one you can clearly experience the fruits going from fresh to dry. ⏰ We let it open in a decanter for a few hours and after serving, it continue to develop in the glass. — 4 years ago
Deep garnet in color. Incredibly smooth with notes of plum, currant, and blackberry. — 4 years ago
"Odedi"
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, chocolates, black pepper, herbs and light spices.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, black pepper, light earth, herbs and black tea.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain in Washington State. Rich and engaging. Elegant and complex.
Needs time to open up properly, so be patient. Fruit forward and spicy.
Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Has good potential to become a 95+ point wine.
Nicely balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in all new French oak barrels for 20 months. A small production of less than 3,500 bottles.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
