My last bottle of 2012 Robert Chevillon Nuits Saint George
caught at a stage on its maturing curve, where the red fruit turns to dried fruit, rose petal is being backed by autumn leaves followed by sous bois and a dash of earthy spice. Lovely indeed! — 5 years ago
Campari but…better? — 3 years ago
I have long been a fan of St. George for a long time, and this confirms my high opinion of them. Nose of rye spice with vanilla and bananas foster, and on the taste, honey-sweetened tea with clove and pepper, masala tea spices, oak, and bitter chocolate. Orange emerges immediately on the finish with subsequent honey. — 4 years ago
Picked this baby up Nuit-Saint-George while touring France with the in-laws. Father-in-law currently in the cath lab for an inferior STEMI, so decided to break this one out of the archives. Best of luck, Ralph! — 5 years ago
How does anyone not hoard (regular) Sazerac at ~$25?!
Incredibly smooth, great sweet note to the finish. Again, why haven't I not been buying this for years...?
(BTW Kirkland Bourbon at $30 is worth the price of admission, earthy oak note on the palate is quite similar to Buffalo Trace.)
Counter-Clockwise from top left:
Buffalo Trace (single-barrel selection), Jefferson's Reserve Very Old/Very Small Batch, Knob Creek (9yo), Kirkland Bourbon (7yo), St George single-malt (SM 015), Hillrock (Ancram NY, solera aged, Barrel No. 174), Berkshire Mountain Distillers Shay's Rebellion and Wild Turkey Master's Keep (Batch 0001, 17yo). — 3 years ago

Nice medium bodied ruby coloured Nuits St George with strawberry and berry flavours, good restrained tannins with plenty of grip on the plate
Good match with Easter lamb rack. — 9 months ago
