Light golden color but still fresh. Lovely nose with white flowers and fresh fruit. Still tart with a bit of sweetness at the end. Very mineral tastes. Drank with fresh salmon cakes with Thai spices. Great pairing. O e more in the cellar. — 3 years ago

First bottle of my 2019 WSU Auslesen from Prüm, and only my second ever Auslese from the estate. I think I knew what to expect from this wine, and sure enough it’s really closed down at the moment, with some spellbinding characteristics that need time to knit together. There isn’t a great deal to the nose, but the palate is gorgeous, very tropical, sweet but featherlight, with some pleasing bitter orange flavour that appears after two hours of air. It seems quite low in acidity, a characteristic of the vintage, and slightly incomplete at present but a joy to drink and a great match for Thai curry.
Eleven more bottles in this case and I shan’t open the next for another five years at least! — 2 years ago
Always worth having a bottle on the shelf -
Lightly Smoked green pepper, a wonderful nose.
Heavier bodied with some green tabaco, pepper, hints of Thai basil, oregano, rounded out with older staves and high licorice acidity.
This winery never disappoints.

Orange blossom and the slightest touch of residual sugar to balance out the razor sharp acidity (and balance out my spicy Thai food). This is a light wine but I can almost taste the slate soils and steep slopes.
Whole-cluster grapes and spontaneous fermentations

So good with our exciting upscale Thai meal at Nari in SF. Pineapple, honeysuckle. Nice acidity that paired beautifully with our seafood centric dinner. — 3 years ago
