How does anyone not hoard (regular) Sazerac at ~$25?!
Incredibly smooth, great sweet note to the finish. Again, why haven't I not been buying this for years...?
(BTW Kirkland Bourbon at $30 is worth the price of admission, earthy oak note on the palate is quite similar to Buffalo Trace.)
Counter-Clockwise from top left:
Buffalo Trace (single-barrel selection), Jefferson's Reserve Very Old/Very Small Batch, Knob Creek (9yo), Kirkland Bourbon (7yo), St George single-malt (SM 015), Hillrock (Ancram NY, solera aged, Barrel No. 174), Berkshire Mountain Distillers Shay's Rebellion and Wild Turkey Master's Keep (Batch 0001, 17yo). — 5 years ago

Jameson Gold purchased 17 years ago. This is s different whiskey than what they sell now. Fantastic, a classic. — 11 years ago
As authentic as it gets. Older than old school. Nose is iodine, granite, blackberries, and it’s all wrapped in a bow. It is so refined. Wow. This is a stunning young bottle of this. Always a 9.5 as you can see by previous notes but this is just beyond. Meaty. I mean like sick insane vivid meats. Smoked and cured. 9.8 nose. Holy shit. That palate is elegant as all can be but has serious structure and tannins but all wrapped in granite and blackberry fruit. What a finish. This is as good a St. Joseph as I’ve had in months. Wow the concentration. So granitic and mineral. Young. But incredible. 9.5 for now. — 4 years ago
Brought this gin back from Aberystwyth, the town on the Welsh coast where Prince Charles studied the language before becoming the Prince of Wales. This one is spicy and piney. Reminds me of a Welsh version of St. George's Terroir Gin. Enjoying it over a bit of ice. — 6 years ago
Stunning Irish Whiskey. Best i have tasted. Spicy with white pepper and spiced heather in finish.
Internet search yielding the following: "JJ12 John Jameson 12 year old blended Irish Whiskey estimate from the 1970's. Distilled & bottled at the Bow Street distillery which closed in 1971." — 10 years ago
Good mild taste. Great for an average evening at home. My typical standard — 12 years ago
Ripest red cherry and red rose aromatic hybrid. Cherry and strawberry blossoms. Herbaceous basil and tarragon sweetness awash in warm plum and baked currants. Flowering elms with wet black bark. Finally, oak and smoke. Perfect integration on the palate. Ready now but also for the foreseeable. Sweet raspberry and blackberry flash and recede to an obverse tart cherry with incredible indelible, satisfying depth. Sweet tobacco is outlined by Saigon cinnamon, clove, allspice and a strangely sweet pepper dichotomy. Really a perfect wine in every way. Smoke and graphite find a way to bow into the shimmery finish with finesse.

A multiple tasting of global brown spirits, but dinner of enchiladas with locally sourced ingredients was perfectly paired to the ultimate of Green Chile vodka from none other than St. George's (Alameda, CA).
Happy 2022>2023 Delectable Family.
I was lucky enough to land one of the current COVID variants during my Holiday break, yet 'luck' is one word for the situation. Fortunately symptoms were mild but my palate is twisted, so hopefully 2023 brings a reset. — 3 years ago

Well built Bordeaux 100% Merlot. Long lasting tastes of red matured fruits with a chocolate finale. Charming tannins. Great wine to consume bow but can be opened in years. — 9 years ago
1985 out of magnum at this day in age is absolutely charming. Both savory and rounded and resonant with camphor, dark fruits of the forest, resinous violin bow rosin, and underscored by the rare structure of a master carpenter underscored by a currant leaf come eucalypt edge that throws all its countless other charms into relief. Oh to embrace every stage as this opens up. A handsome taste of Saint Julien from a legendary house worthy of its renown -and at a delectable place in time served from this format. Seek this out. — 11 years ago

Light nose. First sip came in hot with a quick finish. With a few minutes of air it opened up a lot, smoother and noticeably longer. Wood and spice lead more than caramel for me. Finish is long and a bit drying, hits the tip of the tongue then sits in the cheeks. No real fruit showing on my palate. I’d prefer a bit more fruit or caramel to balance the structure. — 5 months ago
