One of the most fascinating single malts I’ve ever had. This is not for beginners. It’s oily and industrial in the best way, with notes of grain, honey and oak. I liked it a lot, but it felt incomplete, maybe a little one note. Certainly not an everyday drinker, but it was definitely educational. I’m looking forward to trying some of their alternative barrel offerings. EDIT: This grew on me like Kudzu, baby. I LOVE this whisky. The more I drank the more complex and interesting it became. Has strong notes of the military industrial complex — 5 years ago
Velvety red fruits, vanilla, rubber industrial tubing, cracked pepper and wet forest floor permeate the nose, with a slight malo character that pervades, along with an overall floral element that wafts throughout. You can tell the pedigree with this. Deep red/purple coloration on a medium to full body, and even though this in young, the acidity seems well aligned, with tannins perfectly integrated, dry, but not austere. Palate is rich and refined, with prominent red fruits, not overly jammy or fleshy, but silky plums, black cherries, granite or graphite, with pencil shavings, slight balsamic characteristics, and a loooong lingering dry palate that lingers for quite some time. Really impressive for a wine so young! — 3 months ago

Punchy, juicy, but not too sweet or without character. Doesn't taste like industrial rosé. A treat! — 2 years ago
Delicious and elegant. Nose has wafty, gorgeous candied cherry fruit, granitic minerality, and a background note of barnyard funk to remind you this is not industrial Bojo. In the mouth it’s intensely flavorful but has a light feel and a silky texture. Beautifully pure fruit. Very nice, crisp acids. — 6 years ago

2010 vintage. Courtesy of @Pinotman /// Andreas. Great fill. Nice cork. Opened with a Durand and decanted. Minimal sed. Tasted 45 minutes, 1.25 hours and 2 hours after open/decant. Initial gamey, smoky nose mostly dissipated and Chambord/dark plum rushed in to fill the vacuum. Medium-medium heavy body still. Surprising, this had not thinned out and was drinking mostly primary. Never been the biggest Chapoutier fan but will be keeping an eye out for this one in the May gray/grey market. Absolutely no rush to crush as this is aging at a (pre-Industrial Revolution) glacial pace. Thank you again @Pinotman /// Andreas!!! 4.17.26. — a month ago
