Beautiful Pinot with a nose full of cherries and fruit. At 7 years young this wine has some wonderful flavors of jam with a hint of smoke. Really nice wine! Enjoy!!! β 8 months ago
This was a surprise! The body and color were surprisingly light, with a light maroon/burgundy, and a Nose of sharpie and old velvet couch opening to notes of wet leaves, and then evolving into chamoy and a fresh bouquet of flowers. this is a wild and excitingly different wine. Like, wow, at first the palate was straight sweet jam, then it became vegetal, with pronounced freshness of prickly pear, with well integrated tannins and a slightly orange citrus finish. β 3 years ago

Smoky Red Mountain Syrah. Silty on the nose. Blackberry/raspberry, Acidic and astringent. Might be better with longer decanting. β 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2017 San Valentino pours a slightly hazy, ruby color with medium+ viscosity and light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, red fruit: sour Montmorency cherry, wood varnish, horse blanket, black licorice, old wood, and stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and zippy. One of the more wild vintages of San Valentino Iβve ever had and this bottle wasnβt quite as good as the one I had a couple years back. Drink now and enjoy what nature gave to Paolo and Giampiero. β a year ago
π·Cheers to this compelling Morgon crafted by one of the regionβs luminaries!β¨
Weβre talking about the βCΓ΄te du Pyβ Morgon (Gamay Noir) by the revered Jean Foillard.
This Gamay hails from Morgon β a βCruβ within the broader appellation of Beaujolais β with a reputation for producing structured & age-worthy wine.
ποΈ This wine is medium ruby in color, like a gemstone with the delicate haze youβd expect from an unfiltered wine.
π The aromas & flavors are perfumed with ripe red and black cherry, wild strawberry, blueberry, pomegranate, blood orange, mulberry, rosehips, hibiscus, lilac, black tea, rooibos, black licorice, star anise, potting soil, gunflint, & clove.
π On the palate, itβs dry with vibrant acidity, warming alcohol, a medium body, fine, ripe tannins, followed by a persistent finish.
In sum, this is a captivating, soulful, & expressive wine; a beautiful representation of Morgon, so deliciously drinkable now, with its layers of lush fruit, florals, & spice, while demurely holding the spine, structure, & intensity to ageβ¦
I can imagine it gaining mushroom, earthy, leather, & cured meat dimensions with time.
It offers power and elegance; a wine to sip, savor, & appreciate. β 4 months ago

Fantastic! So much tropical fruit like Lychee, like gerwurtreminer or gruner veltliner on the nose. Clear color, like water. Acidic and the fruitiness lingers on the palate. And Dena guesses it right! β a month ago
