Darom Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

This wine is medium dark in the glass. It smells of black fruit, like plums, blackberries, and currant. There is also a layer of spice on the nose. The palate brings more of that dark fruit, with a heaping helping of tannic structure. It will pair nicely with fatty meats. — 14 days ago

Judean Hills Syrah Blend 2016

This inky wine’s nose is a strong blast of dark fruit, and I do mean dark. There is spice and oak, along with a strong element of forest floor, perhaps that of the Yatir Forest. The palate is fruit forward, dark fruit forward. The Syrah takes the lead, but the Tannat certainly makes itself known. There is a grapey note in the background which reminds me of Lambrusco a bit. The tannins are firm, but not as forceful as I expected.

#KosherWineSunday

Deep ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, black currants, coffee, oak, cloves, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet plums, cooked cherries, oak, spices, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, herbs, dark coffee, peppercorn, pencil lead and dark chocolates.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 11 year old Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Israel is drinking beautifully now. Rich, spicy and entertaining. Elegant and fruit forward. A great sipping wine.

Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Good right out of the bottle, and even better after 90 minutes of airtime.

Such a fantastic wine, complex and interesting. Loved the nose here. The high alcohol is nicely integrated by now.

I had a few other vintages of this wine and this is so far the best that I had.

Thank you Aaron for sharing this with me.

Paired beautifully with Grilled Lamb Chops.

A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Petit Verdot. Grapes are grown at 2,500 feet of elevation. Aged in (33% new) French oak barrels for 14 months. Kosher and not Mevushal.

15% alcohol by volume.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish brick rim.

Pretty nose and dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing plums, cooked cherries, light oak, spices, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, wet leaves and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This 17 year old is peaking now. Soft and rich, yet elegant. A gorgeous wine.

A great sipping wine to have all by itself, and will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

I've had a few vintages of this Cabernet, old and young, but this one was the best so far.

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Unfiltered and kosher.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Yatir Creek Blend 2015

Yatir winery.
Yatir Creek 2015, a blend of Syrah, Tanant and Malbec. An interesting blend based on Syrah. Thick, purple color. Cherries and plum hints on the nose. Balanced, tanins already soft. Was a good companion to the wintery lunch we had.
