Campovida

Spirit Canyon Vineyard Arneis 2014

Always one of my favorites from Campovida. We saved this for our 5th anniversary, but we’re just now getting around to it on #8. Incredibly smooth. Cherries. — a year ago

Opened at 7pm. Began drinking at 930. Paired with porterhouse and mushrooms. Wow.

Wine dinner. Bottle

@Paul T- Huntington Beach nah.. that’s the old best seat. New best is table #8. Reason is that the roller shades don’t work and you get cooked by the sun…. 😜🤣🤪😊

Kosta Browne

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2012

My #8 in this 2007-2018 vertical. I thought it was the 2016, turned out to be the 2012. Seem much younger, so I guess it should really shine in the next few years — 5 years ago

Valdivieso

Caballo Loco Number Nine Red Blend

Valdivieso of Chile, central valley, Caballo Loco #8. 14% alc. This blend is unknown as the grapes are not mentioned on the bottle. The color is ruby red with a tint of brown like we see in most French wines. The bouquet is like an Italian Sangiovese with hints of blueberry pie and dandelions. The palate is characteristic of dark cherry and blueberry and a hint of dark currant. There is a slight hint of oak and moss. No spice, no other real flavors that I can detect. A very simple wine. The finish is quick and mildly dry. Not my favorite, but not bad for a South American wine. — 8 years ago

Hoffman Dallwitz Little Wine #8 Syrah 2021

My last Little Wine #8 - see previous notes, from only 17 weeks ago - these will be brief. A blend of 5 vintages of 2015 to 2019 inclusive. Very much the product of ancient vines which it is. Black fruits with plums and dark chocolate with those trademark silky tannins and low acid. One could not help but love this. I see Suckling gave this 97 points. I just took delivery of this year’s allocation which is mainly from the fabulous 2021 vintage in South Australia. — 3 years ago

Wine Advent(ure) #8. First time having a Torrontes wine. Very pleasant surprise. Notes of apricot and Meyer lemon on the nose. Crisp, tart and dry throughout. Lemon peel and apricot seem the predominant flavors. — 5 years ago

Punching way above its weight. Chocolate, cinnamon, tobacco, vanilla from the oak, on the nose. Viscous on the palate; not tannic, but well defined. Really satisfying, especially at $17. Pandemic bottle #8. — 6 years ago

Vi de Vila Gratallops Priorat Garnatxa Blend 2018

Catalan wine tasting #8
Amazing complex nose, slightly fruity, more animalistic, mineral, earthy.
Dark cherry, black rock, leather, wild herbs, cold roast.
Amazing on the palate. With great precision, concentration and yet freshness. Insane!
And depth. Great depth and character!
Spicy, fresh, juicy with great purity.
Absolutely stunning! A truly elegant, complex, profound wine!
Needs 6h breathing but does not disappoint!

Tasting of 10 of the 2007-2011 Dehlinger Pinots. Eva Delingher was kind enough to join our tasting and answer all of our random questions. So this one was very confusin, it kept fading in and out. As such I rated it #8 of 10 — 5 years ago
