Vintage 2007 - I do like évery wine of La Tunella, and this one is very good indeed! It has a very complex smell with cedar, leather, chocolate and lots of cherries. A very smooth taste, no tannins that are disturbing, a touch of sweet thanks to lots of sunshine, powerfull. A great example of Refosco from its home in Friuli, Italy. The color is a deep red with a dark core. The color here is what's interesting as the acidity is off the charts in a good way. It's rare to come across a wine this deeply colored and high in acidity. The density of flavor is excellent, with clear and freshly snappy blackberry, raspberry, tart plum, violet florals and slight bitter note that adds a spice accent to the palate. Firm and ripe tannin add to the acidity forming a great structural base.

An insane value at about $20.
