Fair warning as this is a heavy purse to carry. Six years in and taking stock. Figs, dates, treacle, raisins, carob, caramel, vanilla bean, sweet potato casserole, bacon fat, mincemeat. Rich on the palate with milk chocolate, molasses, Turkish coffee, gingerbread, candied date, and espresso-tobacco finish. Gloriously integrated and complex complexions.

I got this as a gift and was leery given some of the previous vintage reviews here. I’m happy to report this Josh Cellars is a pleasant everyday #merlot from #northcoast CA, concentrated plum aromas, firm acidity, moderate oak with some cocoa notes and slightly soft tannins. Winemaker Joseph Carr has upped his game for 2018 - quite good QPR for just over $10. — 4 years ago

Spicy autumn nose of rosemary and cinnamon with light vanilla and clove. Dusty oak and acorn, grape, raisin, and cassis. Peppery pointed on the palate with dark cherries and black and red currant. Black olive textured, but with tart cherry, baked plum, St. John’s wort, sloe and cassis. Dried blackberry. Amazing offering from an American producer willing to let the produce shine!

This smells and tastes like aged #bourgogne level red #burgundy The color was orangish-pink. The nose was low intensity and the palate was missing fruit and dominated by vegetation like rhubarb.
