Have had several vintages of this now (surprised I haven’t reviewed). Classy, old world style syrah that ages well. Took an hour to open up.

Alder Springs vineyard produces all sorts of varietals in Mendo. Pinot, gamay, syrah, chard, trousseau gris and so many more.

Most of the fruit tastes light and cool. Not this, this is chocolate and licorice. Forest floor, black cherry and saddle leather. Will age well for another 10-12yr. — 4 months ago

It’s picked up a little nuttiness to go with the fruit, minerals, and bright acidity. The acid is prominent enough on the finish that it is ever so slightly disjointed but still enjoyable. — a year ago
