António Macanita Arinto Dos Açores 2023

Likely some bias as enjoyed it while in the Acores, but tried a bunch of arinto while in the Acores and Portugal proper, and this was the favorite by far. Simply delicious. — 5 months ago

Branco de Talha Regional Alentejano 2010

2020 vintage. A blend of 70% Roupeiro and 30% Antão Vaz, vinified together in amphora by winemakers António Maçanita and Sandra Sárria. Unlike stated by one comment here, this is not oxidative whatsoever. Pear, quince, flowers and a hint of fresh mint. Medium-bodied with juicy white fruit, tight acidity, fresh herbs and very good mineral length. Abv. 12,5%. — 2 years ago

Preta Vinho Regional Alentejano Touriga Nacional Blend 2021

2021 vintage. Note that there is no Touriga Nacional in this wine, it is a blend of 40% Aragonêz, 30% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Trincadeira and 10% Castelão. Fitapreta was the project of young winemaker António Maçanita and the late consultant David Booth ( who sadly died from a heart attack at age 47 in 2012). Maçanita favours minimal intervention, indigenous yeasts and low sulfites. Terrific value, bursting with fruit and spices with a ripe tannic backbone. Aged 50% in stainless steel and 50% in neutral barrels. Abv. 14,5%. — 2 years ago
