Blackberry pie with slightly chewy tannins. Mouth coating with smooth finish. This is a winner. TBL — a month ago

Carco Patrimonio Nielluccio 2020

Really a very nice Corsican red. I believe the grape is the local version of Sangiovese. Has some very different purple flowers and herbal notes, but still the great tension and acid. Delicious and interesting. — 5 months ago

Les Tillets Meursault Chardonnay 2017

2024/7/12-14. I’ve really missed drinking Jobard’s wines. Opening with toasty lemon tart, this reveals a wide, spicy bouquet and a remarkably savory, saline mineral palate. — 5 months ago

Les Charmes Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2015

2015 is showing wonderfully. Youthful reduction, concentrated and textural palette with both richness and definition and racy acids driving everything home. In a wonderful spot, but if this particular bottle is any indication, this is still young. Last sips were the best! — 3 months ago

Meursault-Genevrières 1er Cru Chardonnay 2020

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2020 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a subtle reduction on the nose that enhances the aromatics. It is well-defined, with more yellow fruit in situ, crushed stone and rosemary oil. The oak is very well integrated. The palate is energetic and tensile from the start, with the reduction just right. It is not a deep Genevrières, yet taut and linear, almost Puligny-like towards the sustained finish. Excellent, though it needs bottle age to work through the reduction. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2024)

Les Plantes aux Bois Côte de Nuits-Villages Pinot Noir 2016

Still a little closed, needs some time or significant air but tremendous purity and whole cluster structure, red fruit driven with rose petals, wet earth and leaves, a touch of smoke and stony limestone character aplenty — 7 months ago
